Microsoft will be holding a press event at Mobile World Congress (MWC 2015) tomorrow to unveil its new Lumia devices. Microsoft’s news center, however, has inadvertently published a blank article announcing two new Windows Phone devices – the Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL. It has been rumoured that Microsoft will launch two low-end devices and from the looks of things, this may be true.

Leaked specs of the Lumia 640 point to a 5-inch device with 1GB RAM and 8GB storage (with microSD), powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chip. It will be be a dual-SIM device and LTE-enabled. The main camera may be a 8.7MP PureView module, lifted from the Lumia 925. The front camera is reported to be a 1MP.

Despite being a low-end device, it will come with NFC and feature wireless charging capabilities via its cover.

GSMArena already has a spec page of the Lumia 640 published.

Not much detail of the Lumia 640 XL, although some quarters expect it to be a successor to the Lumia 1320.

The Lumia 640 may be priced around USD275. More to be revealed tomorrow at the Microsoft event, 8.30AM Barcelona time, 2 March 2015.
