Hello, Nokia Lumia 630 Dual SIM. A phone with a couple of firsts to its credit. Number one, it’s the first official device to be released since the Microsoft acquisition of Nokia‘s mobile business and subsequent rebranding to Microsoft Devices Group. Secondly, it’s the first Windows Phone to feature the latest Windows Phone 8.1. Thirdly, it’s the first Lumia smartphone to support dual-SIM, thanks in part to the Windows Phone 8.1 update. That’s a lot of debuts for an entry-level smartphone.
Nokia has been adept at the value game, producing some exceptional budget phones, including the Lumia 520, which also, by the way, stops bullets and saves lives. The Lumia 520 has been a runaway success for Nokia, and is the best-selling Windows Phone model bar none.
The new Lumia 630 Dual SIM continues the evolution of the budget Lumia, packing striking coloured interchangeable matte polycarbonate housing, quad-core processing power from Qualcomm, dual-SIM support and Windows Phone 8.1.
The dual-SIM capability enables seamless switching between two SIM cards, which evidently supports 3G/HSPA+.
The 1.2Ghz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chip delivers firepower to the device, along with 512MB RAM, 8GB of storage and expandable microSD storage of up to 128GB.
The 4.5-inch IPS LCD FWGA (854 x 480) ClearBlack display is protected by Gorilla Glass 3. The device also sports a 5MP autofocus HD main camera and includes a 1,830mAh battery which should see it last up to 13.1 hours of talktime.
Thanks to Windows Phone 8.1, new integrated features including one swipe notifications from Action Centre coupled with the new Microsoft Enterprise feature pack – Microsoft Office, OneDrive, Camera and HERE Maps and Drive+ makes the Lumia 630 a great tool for work and play.
Jumping on the fitness bandwagon, the Lumia 630 includes a SensorCore, a low-power motion sensing feature that tracks users’ activities all day long.
