WD has warned users of their hard drive products that there may be risk of data loss when updating to Apple’s latest OS X Mavericks 10.9 update. WD is currently investigating reports from customers, and noted that the issues may be connected to the WD Drive Manager, WD Raid Manager and WD SmartWare software applications.
Apple has apparently updated the Gold Master version of OS X Mavericks previously sent out to developers. GM builds are usually the final build that goes out for public consumption. OS X Mavericks is expected to be released to public during the Apple Special Event in San Francisco on Tuesday, 22 October, where Apple is anticipated to launch new iPads, Macs and more.
