SOCAR is now in Penang, 50% off bookings

Fast-growing car-sharing platform SOCAR has landed in the Pearl of the Orient – Penang. Late last year, it expanded its wings to Johor and is now ready to serve the northerners. To kick things off, the company is running a special limited time promo where you can get 50 percent off on your booking.

To enjoy this offer, all you need to do is enter the promo code “CCC19” in the My Promotion tab when you make a booking. The offer is applicable with a minimum booking of nine hours in Penang, with the discount capped at a maximum of MYR100.

The offer is valid from now until 24 February 2019.

SOCAR has zones on both Penang island and Seberang Prai.

SOCAR PenangThe fleet in Penang includes the Perodua Axia and MyVi, Toyota Vios and Altis, Honda BR-V, HR-V and City, and Mini Cooper.

Rates are as low as MYR8.48 per hour for an Axia, or MYR101.76 per day on weekdays.

Since its debut in January 2018, SOCAR has been working hard to expand its fleet and its coverage zones. It aims to grow its fleet to 1,000 cars and to serve 1 million users by 2020.

The proponent of multi-flexing has made it highly affordable for people to rent cars for short stints – from as brief as an hour, to days and weeks.

The beauty about the service is that petrol is included for free – up to 30km per hour, or 300km per day for daily bookings. A petrol card is included in the car, so it’s easy to top up when fuel is running low.
