Samsung’s TV packaging make purrfect cat houses

Samsung TV eco-friendly packaging

I don’t know about you, but I tend to hoard packaging of all the things I buy, except perhaps for selected IKEA furniture. Some I’d reuse for storage and some I’d drop off at the nearest recycling centre. But wouldn’t it be great if you could turn let’s say a TV packaging into a… cat house? Well, the creative, resourceful brains at Samsung thought it would be a great idea to do just that.

Their new lifestyle TV collection with the fanciest names—The Serif, The Frame, and The Sero aren’t just beautiful, cutting-edge UHD TVs, but also come with purrfect eco-friendly packaging.

You see, the packaging is made from corrugated cardboard and it comes with a dot-matrix design to guide you in cutting and folding a small end table, or a cat house. And in true IKEA-inspired-style, even comes with an assembly guide which can be assessed by scanning the QR code on the box.

Your cat will love you more if you decide to turn the to-be-discarded box into a cat house. Or as the picture below, turn it into a magazine rack. Sure, Samsung has strategically placed branding on some of the bits, but hey, your cat wouldn’t mind.

Honestly though, this is a great idea. Now, if only I can afford one of those wallet-burning Samsung TVs.

Earlier this year, Samsung had picked up a CES 2020 Innovation Awards for its eco-packaging concept for promoting the efficient use of resources.
