Obsidian Entertainment, the company that developed FallOut: New Vegas and many other CRPG titles has now returned with a new CRPG game called Project Eternity. The catch? The game is on Kickstater!

Obsidian Entertainment launched this CRPG on kickstarter, as a platform to raise funds for the game’s development. The kickstater was launched in September 12th, 2012 and will end at October 12th, 2012. Currently, they have approximately 51,619 backers with $2.2 million pledged, as of October, 2012. The original goal of the pledge esd $1.1 million.

Since their pledges have increased, new pledge goals have been released, which adds more elements and variety to the game. A $2.3 million unlocks Expert mode, Trial of Iron and Path of the Damned game modes plus a godlike race.

Obsidian Entertainment were producers of many popular CRPG’s titles, such as Fallout, Icewind Dale, Baldur’s Gate, and Neverwinter Nights.

The people in Obsidian Entertainment worked on before. WOW!

Opinion: There is an increase in game developers trying to reach out to communities this way, and perhaps to avoid game publishers.
