Yikes, this might be true. According to All Games Beta, there was once a product listing on Tomb Raider, specifically stating that players will be able to “play a variety of multiplayer modes as Lara’s Shipmates or Yamatai’s Scavengers.”
According to Joystiq, Square Enix mentioned something about a “special announcement” that will change the way you play Tomb Raider forever. As far as I know, our gun-slinging heroine has yet to receive any multiplayer installments in the past. This may be a new breakthrough for the series. Looks like Square Enix is getting better and better. Now, I hope that they can do something about their legendary Final Fantasy series.
