Huawei has taken the wraps off its latest nova 7 SE, claiming the title of “Malaysia’s most affordable 5G phone.” The 5G, camera-centric effort will be available starting 19 June 2020 on the Huawei Store online and Huawei Experience Stores (HES) nationwide. The Huawei FreeBuds 3i will also be made available on the same day.

The Huawei nova 7 SE is priced at MYR1,499 and it comes in Space Silver, Midsummer Purple, and Crush Green. On the other hand, the Huawei FreeBuds 3i retails for MYR399 and is available in Ceramic White and Ceramic Black. Both will be available starting 19 June 2020.

Huawei nova 7 SE features and specs

The latest addition in the nova family boasts a 6.5-inch FHD Punch Fullview display (2400×1080) with a 90.3 per cent screen-to-body ratio, housed in a textured 3D glass body. Weighing 189g, it features a large 4,000mAh battery that supports 40W Huawei SuperCharge. Just half an hour of charging will give the device up to 70 per cent of juice.

Under the hood, the phone is powered by the 7nm Kirin 820 5G chipset, backed by 8GB RAM and 128GB of onboard storage.

In the camera department, the nova 7 SE does not hold back, packing a massive 64MP f/1.8 main camera, 8MP f/2.4 ultra-wide-angle camera, 2MP f/2.4 depth camera, and a 2MP f/2.4 macro shooter. The camera system boasts Huawei’s AI image stabilisation (AIS). The front is a 16MP f/2.0 selife shooter.

Overall, the nova 7 SE ticks all the checkboxes including 5G connectivity (dual-SIM 5G + 4G), Wi-Fi 802.a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.1 BLE/SBC/ACC and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The phone runs EMUI 10.1 based on Android 10.
