Huawei MateBook D 15

Huawei’s much-anticipated Windows notebook PC—the MateBook D 15–is officially sold out, on the first day of sales. The feature-packed affordable notebook went on sale at Huawei’s four-city roadshow across Malaysia—IOI City Mall, Putrajaya, Kuala Lumpur; Sunway Pyramid, Petaling Jaya, Selangor; Queensbay Mall, Penang; and Imago Mall, Sabah.

At the sales launch, customers who purchased the MateBook D 15 were entitled to taking home freebies worth MYR1,287 comprising a copy of Microsoft Office 365, a Bluetooth mouse and a Huawei FreeBuds 3 earphones. The MateBook D 15 retails at MYR2,499.

The first customer, Darren Chin, queued up as early as 6AM on 18 January 2020 to pre-order the MateBook D 15. He cited that he was “instantly attracted by its features and its value for money.”

Matthew Ng, deputy country director of the Huawei Consumer Business Group (Malaysia) said, “This is the fourth laptop model that we have introduced in Malaysia. We are overjoyed with the positive response and the support from our loyal customers thanks to the cutting edge technology.”

The notebook is part of Huawei’s aim to upgrade the lives of consumers via its all-scenario ecosystem, a strategy it embarked on last year.

Launched in China, the MateBook D 15 garnered a high consumer rating in the China market. Following the positive reception, Huawei decided to introduce the popular notebook to the Malaysian market, the first overseas market outside its home country.

It’s not difficult to grasp why the notebook has been such a hit. The Huawei MateBook D 15 is stylish, feature-packed and is offered at an accessible price point. Among its headlining features is the 15.6-inch FullView Display boasting an 87 percent screen-to-body ratio, fingerprint authentication, a recessed camera, AMD Ryzen 5 processor and generous bundled storage of 256GB SSD and 1TB HDD.
