Recently, ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) announced the availability of the Maximus VII Formula/Watch Dogs motherboard in Malaysia.

The Z97 chipset-based ATX gaming motherboard welcomes the latest 4th-, new 4th- and 5th generation Intel Core processors – we’re talking ‘Haswell’, ‘Haswell Refresh’, ‘Haswell Refresh K-Series’ (‘Devil’s Canyon’) and ‘Broadwell.’

There’s plenty to love about the new ROG board and will most certainly keep hardcore gamers happy. ASUS claims it delivers the best gaming hybrid cooling, audio, networking, power and protection. Looking at the spec sheet, we’re not going to deny that it’s highly impressive.

The new mobo supports dual-channel up to DDR3300+ (OC) memory (yes!), quad-GPU SLI and 3-way CrossFireX for rigs with multi-GPUs. It’s also integrated with two SATA Express and ten SATA 3.0 connectors, eight USB 3.0 and six USB 2.0 ports.

An integral part of a gaming rig is cooling, so the ROG board comes with the all-new, exclusive CrossChill Copper hybrid cooling solution that works well with air or liquid set-ups. With liquid, MOSFET temps are lowered by an outstanding 23C.

ROG Maximum VII

Maximum VII Formula/Watch Dogs comes equipped with SupremeFX Formula 2014, an integrated audio solution that ASUS claims works as well as a dedicated soundcard.

State-of-the-art Intel Gigabit Ethernet comes as standard, delivering optimal throughput for speed and efficiency. Working together with ROG’s exclusive GameFirst III technology, it provides lag-free gameplay by optimising the network for game data packets.

The ROG mobo comes with Extreme Engine DIGI+ III and TrueVolt 5V for the best gaming power solution – delivering ultra-stable power delivery and up to 90% efficiency in normal operation. TrueVolt 5V delivers steady 5V supply to both front and back USB sockets ultra reliably.

Exclusive ROG Armor, a two-part fortification that comprises a strong ABS plastic cover and SECC (steel, electro-galvanised, cold-rolled coil) backplate keeps the board protected from heat and bending of components.

The sexy, saliva-inducing ROG Maximus VII Formula/Watch Dogs retails at RM1,720.

Verdict: We want one. RAWR.
