Kuala Lumpur, 22 January 2013: ASUS has announced the launching of the ASUS TAICHI, an ultrabook AND tablet with an innovative back-to-back dual screen design. The ASUS TAICHI is powered by an Intel® Core™ quad-core processor and two back-to-back Full HD screens as well as a slender profile at a mere 3mm and weighs just 1.25kg

The ASUS TAICHI combines the best features of both a tablet and an ultrabook which switches seamlessly. Attached to its base keyboard, the TAICHI becomes a powerful ultrabook with a full HD screen, a backlit keyboard, with a comfortably sized touchpad for work. Detached from its base, the ASUS TAICHI becomes a lightweight tablet, good for though who are constantly on the go.

What’s interesting is the TAICHI’s back-to-back dual screen which can be used simultaneously or independently to share presentations or a movie to an audience on both sides. The IPS display technology also brings brilliant images to both screens with a 178° wide viewing angle for clarity. TAICHI also features a stylus for work and play.

Powered by the Intel® quad-core i7 or dual-core i5 processor with 4GB memory, Intel® HD 4000 graphics and a choice of blazingly fast 128GB or 256GB SSD storage, the TAICHI also comes with dual-band Wi-Fi with Intel® WiDi and Bluetooth 4.0, offering high-performance wireless connectivity. Two USB 3.0 ports provide full support for the latest high-speed external devices.

Integrated with the TAICHI is the ASUS SonicMaster technology, developed with Bang & Olufsen ICEpower®, delivering astonishing sound quality. TAICHI also features a 5-megapixel auto-focus camera with 1080p Full HD video recording and second 720p HD video camera, a noise-suppressing array microphone for crystal-clear video chat in challenging environments and up to 5 hours’ battery life (measured with Wi-Fi web browsing).
