In anticipation of an explosive growth in the 3D printing market, Adobe has integrated 3D printing capabilities into Adobe Photoshop CC. The major update enables Creative Cloud users to easily and reliably build, refine, preview, prepare and print 3D designs from Photoshop CC.
The new 3D printing capabilities in Photoshop CC enables creatives to design in 3D from scratch or refine existing 3D models using familiar Photoshop tools. Automated mesh repair backed by support structure generation ensure reliability of rendered models.
3D print jobs can be sent to a locally connected 3D printer or vial online 3D print services. Photoshop CC supports most popular desktop 3D printers, such as the MakerBot Replicator. A full range of high quality materials are available via Shapeways, a 3D printing community and marketplace where users can find ceramics, metals and full colour sandstone.
Alternatively, print jobs can be sent directly to Sketchfab 3D publishing service, and embed them in their Behance profile using the publisher’s interactive 3D viewer.
The update to Photoshop CC is part of Adobe’s major Creative Cloud release where Adobe Illustrator CC and InDesign CC also received feature enhancements.
