Huawei wants you to buy the Mate 10 Pro instead of the iPhone X

Huawei Mate 10 Pro

Not too long after Apple announces the official arrival of the iPhone X in the Malaysian market, Huawei Malaysia reveals that its cutting-edge flagship Mate 10 Pro is coming on the same day. It looks like a deliberate attempt to steal some thunder from Apple, slated for 24 November debut.

Huawei’s greatest smartphone to date—the Mate 10 Pro first surfaced at its global launch in Munich last month together with the standard Mate 10. While the Mate 10 has already hit stores, the top-of-the-line “Pro” variant has been sitting on the sidelines.

But won’t have to wait too long now.

The Huawei Mate 10 Pro shares much of its underpinning with the Mate 10 with exception of the brilliant 18:9 6-inch FullHD+ AMOLED display. Due to the FullView display, the fingerprint sensor is positioned at the back.

Under the hood, it’s the first from the Huawei stable to feature the advanced 10nm Kirin 970 processor, which comes with a dedicated Neural Processing Unit. The NPU is designed for advanced machine learning and artificial intelligence capabilities.

Naturally, the Pro gets more memory and storage, rocking 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage (no microSD) on board.

The Pro also ditches the 3.5mm headphone jack and provides a pair of high-res USB Type-C headphones in the box.

For the very first time in a Huawei smartphone, the Mate 10 Pro gets IP67-rated dust and water resistance.

The beautiful glass-metal body is available in Titanium Grey, Midnight Blue, Mocha Brown and Pink Gold options.

The device runs the latest EMUI 8 based on Android Oreo.

Mate 10 Pro or iPhone X?

Having used both, the Mate 10 Pro and iPhone X are great flagship devices that cost a pretty penny. Of course, Huawei’s best undercuts Apple’s best by a margin. But it’s never always about price is it?
