Pre-order iPhone X from U Mobile, from MYR3,465

Apple iPhone X

U Mobile was the first to tease iPhone X pre-orders for 17 November 2017. The nimble telco has now revealed plan details and pricing for Apple’s latest smartphone.

The orange telco continues to keep it simple with its iPhone plans, offering just two options for each iPhone X variant.

There are two postpaid plan options, based on 24-month contracts: the Postpaid i90 and the Postpaid i130.

Here’s a breakdown:

iPhone X U Mobile sample payment

iPhone X 64GB

  • Postpaid i90 (MYR90/month) – MYR3,825
  • Postpaid i130 (MYR130/month) – MYR3,465

iPhone X 256GB

  • Postpaid i90 (MYR90/month) – MYR4,485
  • Postpaid i130 (MYR130/month) – MYR4,125

Strangely, U Mobile isn’t offering any prepaid options for the device, something it revolutionised the industry with when it introduced the iPhone 6.

The other glaring omission is its U MicroCredit device financing program. Perhaps that could come at a later stage?

By the way, customers are required to pay an upfront fee of MYR600 (i90, MYR25 x 24 months) or MYR960 (i130, MYR40 x 24 months). This fee will be reimbursed as a monthly rebate over the 24 months period.

Here’s what the Postpaid i90 and i130 plans offer you:

I can’t seem to avoid feeling a little bit of disappointment with U Mobile, who have built a reputation of being disruptive and brave. It doesn’t seem to have done anything different with the iPhone X this time.
