For those who find Gold phones gaudy (me!); Black too common; and Gray too boring, here’s a refreshing new option. The stunning Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ now comes in Coral Blue colour.
Blue, according to a series of surveys conducted by YouGov covering 10 countries across four continents, is the world’s favourite colour. Blue is often associated with precision and intellect. Regardless, it just looks nice in my humble opinion.
The Galaxy S8 and S8+ are Samsung’s best smartphones yet, and from the looks of it, also the best-selling Samsung device ever. Unpacked in March, the Galaxy S8 is a significant departure from its predecessors in terms of design.
Boasting an almost bezel-less and button-less design, the flagship devices’ 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch Quad HD+ (on the S8+) Infinity Display are groundbreaking. For the first time too, Samsung has gone for a 18.5:9 screen aspect ratio.
Its svelte, curvy metal and glass body isn’t just stunning but is also highly durable, boasting IP68 dust- and water-resistance.
The device’s performance-bred nature doesn’t stop there. It gets 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 64GB of UFS 2.1 storage.
In the camera department, the Galaxy S8 again uses the services of the tried and tested (and once best smartphone camera in the world) camera from the Galaxy S7. The 12MP f/1.7 Dual Pixel shooter with OIS may be old hardware, but it has been enhanced to deliver better low-light performance.
On the front, it gets an uprated 8MP f/1.7 selfie shooter.
Samsung packed plenty in its Galaxy flagship, and if you’d like to know the numerous ‘firsts’ it put into the Galaxy devices, read this.
