Mozilla Firefox Focus now for Android: Private browsing, ad-blocking

Mozilla Firefox Focus for Android

After keeping iPhone and iPad safe from prying eyes and ad trackers, Mozilla Firefox Focus is now available for Android users. The new mobile browser features an ad tracker counter, disable tracker blocker, a notification reminder, and more.

Debuting in November last year for iOS devices, the browser quickly became the highest rated browser of choice on the App Store – with a 4.6 average rating.

Fast, simple and always private, Firefox Focus is fresh of tabs and visual clutter. And erasing your sessions is as easy as a simple tap.

The browser also allows you to browse the web away from the prying eyes of tracking ads. As if not enough that they’re tracking you without your knowledge, these ad trackers are also known to slow down the mobile experience.

You can turn the ad blocking feature on and off as needed. If you’re curious, there’s an ad tracker counter to show you the number of ads that are blocked per site. Just in case there are some sites that are not loading correctly, you can disable the tracker blocker.

A handy feature is the notification reminder. When the browser is running in the background, it will remind you to erase your browsing history.

In summary, here are the new features for Android:

  • Ad tracker counter – For the curious, there’s a counter to list the number of ads that are blocked per site while using the app.
  • Disable tracker blocker – For sites that are not loading correctly, you can disable the tracker blocker to quickly take care of it and get back to where you’ve left off.
  • Notification reminder – When Focus is running in the background, we’ll remind you through a notification and you can easily tap to erase your browsing history.
