Lenovo today introduced its latest ThinkPad P51s Workstation and a refreshed range of its ThinkPad portfolio, powered by the 7th Generation Intel Core i7 “Kaby Lake” processor.

ThinkPad P51s

The ThinkPad P51s Workstation is a highly-durable, high performance mobile workstation designed for process-heavy tasks. Powered by the 7th Generation Intel Core i7-7600U processor, the workhorse is mated to 16GB DDR4 2133MHz RAM (up to 32GB) and an NVIDIA Quadro M520M GPU (2GB).

In terms of storage, it rocks superfast 512GB PCIe NVMe OPAL and runs Windows 10 Pro out-of-the-box.

Connectivity-wise, it sports Intel Dual Band Wireless AC (2×2) and Bluetooth 4.1 vPro.

Next, it’s armed with a plethora of ports including 3x USB 3.0 (with one “always on”), HDMI 1.4, USB-C with Intel Thunderbolt 3, Gigabit Ethernet, a 4-in-1 SD card reader, docking connector and a headphone/mic combo jack.

It offers three display configurations: 15.6-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) non-touch, Full HD OnCell touch, and 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) non-touch.

One thing mobile workers will definitely appreciate is the long-lasting battery, powered by Power Bridge Technology. The technology offers hot-swappable rear batteries (3-cell 24WHr, 6-cell 48WHr, and 72WHr).

If there is one thing synonymous with ThinkPads is its ruggedness. Built like a tank, as they say. It’s built to MIL-SPEC-810G, making it resistant to humidity, dust/sand, extreme temperature, humidity, high vibration and more.

The ThinkPad P51s tips the scales at 1.95kg and measures just 20.2mm at its thinnest, making it a slim and light powerhouse.
