SanDisk has unveiled the world’s first microSD card that meets the Application Performance Class 1 (A1) requirements – from the latest SD Association’s SD 5.1 specifications. The 256GB SanDisk Ultra microSDXC UHS-1 card Premium Edition (yes, it’s a mouthful) is all about capacity and blazing speed for today’s modern smartphones.

With the proliferation of smart devices, action cameras, drones, dashboard cameras and more, microSD storage have become an essential part of the digital lifestyle. According to data from Strategy Analytics, about 75% of smartphones contain microSD slots.

The 256GB SanDisk Ultra microSD card offers unprecendented capacity and performance. It holds up to 24 hours of Full HD video and offers transfer speeds of up to 95MB/s (read).

The A1 spec defines random read input-output access per second (IOPS) of 1,500 and write IOPS of 500. And thanks to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, you can expand storage capacity on your smartphone by selected microSD as preferred or adoptable storage. So, you can load and launch apps directly from the microSD card.

Pricing and availability

The 256GB SanDisk Ultra microSD card will be available on Lazada at a price of MYR1,099 starting 15 February 2017.

The card is compatible with SanDisk Memory Zone app for Android, enabling you to manage and backup content on your device.
