It’s going to be an exciting week ahead. Firstly, the epic annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) happening in Las Vegas. And two big product launches – Samsung’s Galaxy A Series (2017) and the OPPO R9s.
OPPO has revealed Korean heartthrob Lee Min-ho and Malaysian artist, Min Chen as official ambassadors for its next device.
With the impending launch on 5 January, OPPO has kicked off a “blind pre-order” for the device, up till the launch day. Interested buyers and fans only need to deposit a fee of MYR100 to participate in the blind pre-order activity.
Why blind pre-order? Simply because the official price of the device hasn’t been revealed yet. This will of course be unraveled at the launch on the 5th. Early birds stand to win a mystery gift worth MYR100, so don’t miss out.

For the OPPO R9s, the top China smartphone maker will move focus away from the ‘selfie expert’ range – OPPO F1, F1 Plus and F1s.
The OPPO R9s has 16MP cameras on both the front and rear. The front is still a strong selfie camera – packing 16MP with a f/2.0 aperture lens and its famed Beautify 4.0 software.
On the flipside, it houses a strong 16MP f/1.7 Sony IMX398 camera, boasting dual-focus technology. OPPO claims it’s 40% quicker than PDAF.
It also comes with electronic stabilization (EIS).
Other specs include a 5.5-inch Full HD display with Gorilla Glass 5, and is powered by a Snapdragon 625 coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
