Local mobile brand iPro has announced the debut of the LIVEPAD 8.9, powered by Intel Atom and running Windows 8.1. The versatile workhorse will be available for the first 800 customers at a one-off introductory price of RM699 at Plaza Low Yat, valid until 1 March 2015.

The LIVEPAD 8.9 features a 8.9-inch Full HD (1920×1200) display and is powered by the Intel Atom Z3735 quad-core processor backed by 2GB RAM. A large built-in 8000mAh battery should ensure days of productivity and fun on a single charge.

In conjunction with its official launch, the first 500 owners of the LIVEPAD 8.9 (16GB) will receive a fee keyboard and pouch worth RM199 with each unit purchased. The promo pricing and free goodies apply to the first 250 units purchased at Low Yat Plaza, and the first 250 units ordered from wwww.iclickz.com.

After the promotion period, the LIVEPAD 8.9 will retail at RM799.

iPro is a growing but relatively low-profile player in the low- to mid-range mobile market. The brand has a portfolio of highly affordable smartphones and tablets including the iPro Sense Fii (RM199/USD63) and iPro Sense Wi 2 (RM99/USD31) launched mid last year. Yes, you read the prices right.

Showing that it can go premium mid-range, it released the rather impressive iPro Sense Avancer (RM1,099/USD348), a 5-inch octa-core smartphone with 14MP optics and some top specs.

If you’re in the market for a Windows-based tablet, you may want to give the affordable LIVEPAD 8.9 a shot.
