The launch proper of the Apple iPhone 5 by Maxis is currently on the way with just 1 hour to go before gates officially open. As you can observe from the pictures below, queues span across the outside of Kuala Lumpur’s IT mall – CapSquare PIKOM ICT Mall. Mind you, these are from pre-bookings alone.
Sale of the iPhone 5 starts at midnight, December 14.
At the Maxis press conference earlier, Suren J Amarasekera, Joint Chief Operating Officer reiterated that Maxis is proud to have brought the original iPhone to Malaysia three years ago, and are proud again to bring the iPhone 5, in the grand manner synonymous with any Maxis event.
This time round, Maxis partnered with Apple to integrate Apple’s Passbook for added convenience in facilitating pre-booking and event administration.
Maxis announced several surprises including more data allowances for its new iValue plans, inclusion of exclusive Maxis apps such as Maxis Traffic, Loker with 10GB of free cloud storage and for the first time Visual Voicemail – to manage voicemail in an easy-to-use visual interface.
