At OpenWorld, Oracle previewed the next generation, simplified Java-based mobile-centric application development framework – Oracle Development Framework (ADF) Mobile, an extension of the Oracle Application Development Framework. Oracle ADF Mobile is part of Oracle Fusion Middleware, which enables deployment of native and web functionality in the same mobile application. Developers can write applications once and deploy to different mobile platforms, including the newly added Apple iOS platform.
“As developers increasingly work on more sophisticated mobile business applications they need tools that will help them quickly and easily deploy native and web functionality to mobile devices,” said Ted Farrell, chief architect and senior vice president of Tools and Middleware, Oracle. “Oracle ADF Mobile continues to enhance developer productivity, bringing together capabilities that significantly simplify mobile application development, while also helping to ensure that enterprise applications can be easily extended to mobile channels.”
Oracle ADF Mobile is an end-to-end Java Platform, Enterprise Edition (Java EE) framework that provides out of the box infrastructure services and a rich visual and declarative development experience. In short, it enables developers to leverage on their existing skills without learning new languages; hence faster development time and deployment over multiple platforms.
