Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ go on sale this Friday

Park BoGum Galaxy S9

As you may already know, the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ will officially go on sale in Malaysia this Friday, 16 March 2018. If you’ve missed the pre-order in the first week of March, you can take advantage of the surprises Samsung Malaysia has in store for you. And that includes Korean superstar Park BoGum.

As usual, Samsung will be running roadshows for its flagship devices, which will run for three days starting 16 March in Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Johor Bahru.

The roadshows run from 10AM to 10PM daily, 16 to 18 March at Pavilion KL, Queensbay Mall Penang and AEON Bandar Dato Onn Johor Bahru.

Goodies galore

Buyers of the Galaxy S9 or S9+ at the roadshows can redeem a Samsung Wireless Charging Stand worth MYR279. Note that there’s limited units available: 1,300 units allocated in KL, 550 units in Penang and 450 units in Johor Bahru.

There’s a purchase-with-purchase (PWP) offer where you can buy a Gear Sport for 30% off retail price (MYR1,299). Again, there are limited units available: 100 units in KL, 50 units each for Penang and Johor Bahru.

That’s not all. Buyers will also get MYR50 off any original Galaxy S9/S9+ accessory, limited to one unit per customer. Limited units are available: 910 units for KL, 315 for Penang and 385 units for Johor Bahru. Don’t ask why the odd numbers.

Any redemption must be made at the time of purchase during the roadshows, with items available on a first come first served basis.

One more thing. You will receive 1,500 Samsung Reward Points when you activate Bixby, Samsung Members and Samsung Pay on your new Galaxy S9 or S9+. This special reward runs from 16 March till 30 April 2018, and is limited to 3,000 members.

Trade-in, trade-up

If you have an aging device and plan to trade-up, you’re in luck. Samsung Malaysia has a trade-up program where the value of your trade-in device can be used to offset the price of the new Galaxy S9 or S9+.

Samsung really wants you to trade-in and trade-up so it’s offering up to MYR400 extra on top of the usual value of your current device.

For instance, the Galaxy S7 edge is originally valued at MYR850, but the value is now upped to MYR1,250 with this offer. Have a look at the full list of devices here.

Park BoGum to rock Pavilion

Korean superstar Park BoGum is set to bring traffic to a standstill and make the womenfolk scream as he will make an appearance during the consumer launch on Thursday, 15 March.
