Huawei P10 Plus in stores earlier than expected

You know things are heating up in a race when your competitor fast tracks product availability by a week. Originally slated for a 15 April release after a successful pre-order period, the Huawei P10 Plus is instead hitting stores (albeit selected) today, 8 April. This move may be to steal some thunder from Samsung’s latest flagship – the Galaxy S8 that starts pre-orders on 11 April.

The premium segment of the smartphone market is a three-way battle between Apple, Samsung and Huawei. Ambitious Huawei is throwing plenty of resources behind its products, brand and marketing.

The arrival of the P10 Plus marks the availability of the full P10 range in Malaysia. Malaysia is one of the first countries in the world to offer the complete P10 series.

The P10 Plus is the top-rung product in the photography-focused P10 range. While the P10 features the dual SUMMARIT-H Leica lenses found on the P9, the P10 Plus gets a more advanced pair. The P10 Plus boasts the world’s first SUMMILUX-H f/1.8 aperture dual-lens camera system.

The new Leica Dual-Camera 2.0 Pro Edition camera system consists of the new lens setup coupled with 20MP monochrome and 12MP RGB sensors lifted from the Mate 9.

For the first time ever, the P10 Plus also features a Leica 8MP f/1.9 front camera for bokehlicious selfies.
