TM extends one-year iflix unlimited access for UniFi and Streamyx customers

Great news for Telekom Malaysia (TM) customers and iflix fans. Iflix and TM have just announced that they are extending iflix unlimited access to eligible UniFi and Streamyx customers, valid until 31 December 2017.

The latest offer is available for new and existing UniFi customers, as well as Streamyx 4Mbps and 8Mbps subscribers.

The iflix-TM partnership first kicked off in December 2015, bringing the internet TV service to UniFi customers at no cost (one-year subscription).

The unique thing about the deal is that the subscription doesn’t need a login account. All UniFi subscribers need to do is launch iflix on their device while connected to the UniFi connection. The service then “tags” itself to the device, automatically giving access to all iflix content.

TM later rolled out the offer to Streamyx customers as well.

While some have questioned TM’s strategy in “sleeping with the enemy,” TM sees iflix as a complement to its IPTV service – HyppTV, not a competitor.

Iflix is now available in Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Brunei, Maldives, and Pakistan. Recently, iflix announced a joint venture with Zain, iflix Arabia, looking to roll out the service in the MENA region.

If you haven’t tested the service, iflix offers a free 30-day trial with full access to iflix’s service, features and content. And no credit card or payment details required. When you’re ready to subscribe, it costs just RM10 per month or RM96 per year.
