The Chinese New Year is just around the corner, and you know what that means. Throngs of you (yes, you Malaysians) will be driving balik kampung (home) for the holidays. Now, roads and highways will usually be packed (if only ang paos were super packed with cash instead). The bad news is, the journey can be long and slow. The good news is, Yes is giving you a chance to sing in your car, and win ang pao cash.
The “Yes Car-Ok” contest is first-of-its-kind, offering cash ang paos worth over MYR50,000 in total. For many Malaysians, the love for karaoke is as deep as it is for food!
So, from now until 31 January 2017, film yourself showing off your vocal chops while you’re on the road, via Facebook Live video (make sure it isn’t you who is driving, though).
Here’s how you can participate:
- Step 1: Like the Yes4G Page
- Step 2: Open the mobile Facebook App with a smartphone and tap on the ‘Live’ video button.
- Step 3: The smartphone’s front-facing camera will automatically turn on and a video recording screen will pop up. Change your Facebook privacy settings to “Public”.
- Step 4: Include the hashtags #YesCarOke and #amazingthingshappenswhenyousayyes in your description.
- Step 5: Play your song of choice on a separate device or turn on the radio.
- Step 6: Tap the ‘Go Live’ button and start singing.
- Step 7: There is minimum limit of 30 seconds of recording for the video to qualify, but there is no maximum limit. So, sing for as long as you like.
- Step 8: When you are done, go to http://www.yes.my/yescaroke and paste the URL of your Facebook Live video in the provided form at the bottom of the website.
Yes will pick 22 daily winners selected from the pool of participants each day. On 31 January, at the end of the contest, one grand prize winner will be selected from the pool of daily winners.
If you happen to be a Yes subscriber and win the Grand Prize, then guess what? You will take home an amazing MYR3,888 in ang pao cash. Daily winners receive MYR188 cash. If you’re not yet a Yes subscriber, you will receive MYR888 in ang pao cash or the grand prize; or MYR88 for a daily prize.
Be creative and entertaining, because that’s what Yes judges are looking for. All contest winners will be announced on the Yes 4G Facebook page within three weeks after the end of the contest period.
