Introducing Yes Altitude, the most affordable VoLTE phone in Malaysia

Yes Altitude

With the big launch of Yes’ 4G LTE services today, the comeback kid unveiled the Yes Altitude–a VoLTE Android-powered smartphone made for the masses.

The new smartphone complements Yes’ new “Double Data” telco plan–MYR70 per month with 24GB data (16GB LTE, 8GB of broadband).

Available in Gold, White and Silver, the Yes Altitude sports a 5-inch IPS on-cell display and supports VoLTE HD voice and video calls. VoLTE delivers 3x and 6x better quality voice and video calls compared to current 3G/2G networks.

The device is dual-SIM and powered by a 1GHZ Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chip with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage. There’s microSD expansion of up to 32GB. On the camera side of things, it gets an 8MP f/2.0 rear camera and 2MP selfie camera. It comes with a 2,300mAh battery that should give you full day of juice.

It will be available as a retail purchase at MYR399 (incl. GST), or as a bundle with the Yes “Double Data” plan. This is even cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy J1, another VoLTE phone.

Here’s the breakdown of plans:

Yes Altitude Postpaid Bundles

In a nutshell, the Postpaid 88 plan is offered as a promo of MYR70/month, where you’ll get 16GB of 4G LTE data, and 8GB of Broadband data for a total of 24GB of data each month. 4G LTE data can be used on a supported phone like the Altitude. For the 8GB broadband data, which taps into Yes’ WIMAX network, you’ll need an existing WIMAX device, like the Yes Go, Huddle, Huddle XS or Zoom. You can opt to buy one off the rack too.

There’s unlimited on-net calls (VoLTE on supported devices) and SMS, or 9sen/minute/SMS for outside the network.
