BOXiT parcel locker service at 7-Eleven lets you collect parcels 24/7

Shopping online is convenient and easy, until it comes to delivery of your order. In fact, I hear more horror stories about delayed shipments and lost packages than payment fraud. In a market where online shopping is growing, order fulfilment is crucial in the entire customer experience. Here’s where BOXiT, a Malaysian parcel locker service comes in.

In essence, BOXiT is a drop-off solution where you can receive or return an item. Much like a PO Box address, if you will, only that the address is a 7-Eleven store.

BOXiT is completely unmanned, fully managed and monitored by a centralized server via the internet.

For starters, BOXiT will be available at 20 7-Eleven stores in the Klang Valley, and the number will expand to 100 across the country by end of 2014. MOLPay is BOXiT’s e-payment enabler and software development partner.

This solution is great for consumers and online merchants, as it will help minimize failed deliveries, and reduce delivery cost.

Gary Brown, CEO of 7-Eleven Malaysia revealed that in-store services are a significant contributor to its bottom line. Services like BOXiT help drive foot traffic to stores and the service also enhances the customer experience. 7-Eleven currently has 2,000 stores nationwide, and is the undisputed #1 convenience store in Malaysia.

BOXiT CEO, Gregor Trawoger is no stranger to parcel locker services – an expert responsible for bringing the service around the globe, and now the Asia Pacific region.

So here’s how it works.

When you place an order online from a merchant or marketplace, the parcel will be delivered to one of the BOXiT storage spaces around the Klang Valley. When your parcel arrives, it is stored in the locker. You will then receive an SMS with your locker pin code.

All you need t odo is head over to the correct locker and pick up your package.

BOXiT

Because BOXiT spaces are within 7-Eleven stores, you can pick up your goods anytime round-the-clock. Super flexible and convenient.

Currently, BOXiT is only available to online merchants like Lazada (one of its first partners). Similar e-commerce platforms can use BOXiT as collection points for their customers.

BOXiT

According to BOXiT, in the near future, it will roll out BOXiTmicro, a compact version of BOXiT for stores with lower transactions or space constraints. It also plans to introduce BOXiT2me, a single parcel locker which functions like a conventional PO Box for consumers and small businesses.

The BOXiT service will launch in the first week of June.
