Maxis opens registration of interest for Apple iPhone SE

Maxis iPhone SE ROI

Maxis is inviting customers to register for interest for the Apple iPhone SE. It’s earlier than expected, since the latest ‘iDevice’ was just launched on Monday. As it is, pre-orders officially kick off tomorrow, 24 March, in selected countries and will hit retail channels on 31 March.

The 4-inch iPhone SE is set to hit 110 countries by end May 2016. Apple touts its new ‘affordable’ smartphone as “the most powerful smartphone with a 4-inch display.”

‘Registration of interest’ isn’t a pre-booking, more of being kept in the loop of when the product actually hits the market. It is highly likely that Maxis bundles the iPhone SE with its iValue plan, as it traditionally has done with all iPhone devices.

It will most definitely be made available with the MaxisONE plan as well. Maxis currently offers the MaxisONE 128, 158 and 188 bundles with the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus.

The green telco is likely to offer the iPhone SE as part of the highly-popular Zerolution program as well, letting you own the device with no upfront payment.

Will there be a midnight launch? Will it run the Maxis Express delivery service again? Who knows.

Apple iPhone SE

Apple wasn’t making unsubstantiated bold claims when it boasted that the iPhone SE was a powerful device. Based on recent leaked benchmarks from a source in China, the powerful Apple A9 processor blows everything else away. That includes Apple’s own iPhone 6s.

While it looks similar with the iPhone 5s, it is far from ‘last year’s hardware.’ It gets a 12MP f/2.2 main shooter with Focus Pixels and True Tone Flash. Storage options include 16GB and 64GB.

The official retail price starts from US$399 globally, and should be between MYR1,800-MYR2,000 when it hits Malaysian shores. It will be available in four colours – Silver, Gold, Space Grey and Rose Gold.

Stay tuned for updates, or register for interest here so you don’t miss out.
