Free internet on weekends with Celcom’s new FiRST Blue and FiRST Gold plans

Celcom FiRST

Celcom wants you to enjoy free internet on weekends with its new FiRST Blue and FiRST Gold plans. Starting November, the plans will also provide free Celcom WiFi connectivity, unlimited music from just launched Yonder Music streaming service as well as the ability to carry forward unused internet data quota. The two new plans are priced at MYR45 and MYR100 per month respectively.

With the new plans, Celcom says it is the only telco in the country to offer free internet on weekends. The two plans are said to be targeted at people who long for more internet quota, especially busy professionals and their families who prefer to surf most during weekends.

Additionally, the new plans come with an extended credit limit, auto debit savings of 5% on your monthly bill as well as rewards through CLUB for FiRST.

Celcom’s new plans seem appealing from the offset, and looks to be a viable option in the low- and mid-tier.

While it never compares itself to the underdog of telcos—U Mobile—dollar for dollar, it still loses out to U Mobile’s bottom-rung U28. U28 gives you 3GB high-speed internet, 50 minutes/month of calls to all networks, 100SMS/200SMS to U Mobile/other networks and 50MB free internet roaming daily.

U Mobile’s unsung Hero P70 plan is the current postpaid champion with 7GB internet quota, unlimited voice calls to all networks, 50MB free internet roaming every day for just MYR70/month.

Nonetheless, Celcom’s new FiRST plans should still appeal to customers on the network, thanks to its affordable pricing and value-added services and perks.
