U Mobile to offer flexi U MicroCredit plan for iPhone 6s

U Mobile iPhone 6s

We’re less than an hour away before the floodgates for pre-orders start for the Apple iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. All three major telcos – Celcom, Digi and Maxis will be offering pre-order facilities at the stroke of midnight tonight, 9 October 2015. While U Mobile isn’t opening for pre-orders (only pre-registration of interest), I’ve received wind that there’s some enticing offers coming for buyers. Read on for more.

U Mobile has a history for doing some crazy things, for the benefit of the customer of course. They’ve introduced some kick-ass plans including the new HERO Postpaid plan and POWER Prepaid plan. They offered the most affordable iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus device and telco plans in the industry last year. They also rolled out an industry-first microcredit device instalment plan to bring smartphone affordability to the next level.

Here’s what has been whispered about the upcoming iPhone 6s, though. There’s going to be an Awesome plan with unlimited calls and data from only RM40 per month.

There will be no lock-in period (unlike other telcos with a 12/24-month contract) and there will also be a U MicroCredit plan.

But here’s the kicker.

U Mobile will be introducing a flexi U MicroCredit instalment plan. I’m guessing a whole lot like how a flexi home loan works. You’ll have flexibility in repayment amounts – pay more and save on interest or cut down on repayment tenure.

This is pretty darn awesome.

Next, U Mobile is said to be offering a trade-up program for the iPhone 6. No details on trade-in value and such, but we’ll know soon enough.

Like with the previous iPhone 6, you can expect U Mobile perks to cover both its prepaid and postpaid customers.

This is going to be interesting.
