The Voyager Focus UC was designed from ground up for enterprise workers in an open office or loud environments – where eliminating background noise on calls, or during focus time is crucial. Christopher Thompson, VP of Enterprise Product Marketing, Plantronics in his product briefing revealed that the Voyager Focus UC was designed to meet these demands and the demands of millennials – the workforce of today and the future.
The headset has an on-the-ear design that’s both comfortable to wear for long hours, and delivers superior audio on both sides of a call. High frequency sounds like office chatter are reduced. Droning, consistent low frequency sounds like air conditioners are reduced through built-in ANC (Active Noise Cancellation).
The unique cushioned metal headband design isn’t just highly durable but also gives you a secure but comfortable fit. Leatherette ear cushions wrapped around soft memory foam delivers all-day comfort, and passive background noise reduction.
Impeccably built, it features volume controls on one side, and playback on the other. The boom mic is rotatable so you can use it on either the left or right ear.
What’s really cool is that the boom mic is integrated with three precisely-tuned microphone coupled with noise-cancelling algorithms that reduce noise caused by a typical office environment. This means keyboard clatter, close-talkers, footsteps, closing doors, etc. The mics work in tandem to make sure the person on the other end of the line hears your voice, not the surroundings.
The Voyager Focus UC comes with Class 1 Bluetooth with adaptive power that can give you a usage range of up to 150ft, while optimising battery life. A single charge will give you up to 12 hours of talktime.
Thanks to on-board smart sensors, the headset is highly intuitive and intelligent. For example, you can answer a call simply by putting the headset on. It pauses your music while you talk on your call. It pauses mobile audio when you take the headset off your head.
It comes with a sturdy dock that doubles as a stand.
Dynamic Mute Alert technology – an industry first – senses speech and then alerts that the mute function is still active. The headset can automatically mute when you take it off, and unmute when you put it back on.
