No, you didn’t read it wrongly. The premium 5.7-inch Mi Note that was launched in Malaysia yesterday and Singapore today will be available on-demand through Uber on 27 July. That’s one full day before the phone is available via Mi.com.

This unique delivery partnership between Xiaomi and Uber in Southeast Asia is a first-of-its-kind in the world.

Uber customers in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur will be the first to get their hands on the stunning new Mi Note via the Uber app.

To order the Mi Note, just follow the exact process as you would calling for an Uber ride. Simply fire up the Uber app, use the slider at the bottom of the screen to select “Xiaomi,” and hit request. Payment will be charged directly to the credit card that’s tied to your Uber account. Your Mi Note will be delivered to you within a few minutes.

Xiaomi’s pioneering flash sale model has been highly successful. It sold 34.7 million smartphones in 1H 2015 and is the reigning #1 smartphone vendor in China. Uber’s disruptive delivery model that spans across 58 countries is a perfect match for internet-driven Xiaomi.

The Mi Note goes on sale from 28 July 2015 for RM1,549 and will be available from mi.com/my.
