Pre-orders for the device kicked off on 13 April after a private media preview session.

The Surface 3 is the more accessible compared to the top-of-the-line Surface 3 Pro, now with a thinner, lighter form factor and featuring the most powerful Intel Atom processor to date.

The power-efficient Surface 3 comes in two variants —- 2GB with 64GB storage and 4GB with 128GB storage.

Display is served by a 10.8-inch ClearType Full HD Plus unit that supports input from the Surface Pen.

There’s a plethora of ports (all you need really) including a full-size USB 3.0, Mini DisplayPort, microSD card reader and a micro-USB charging port.

What’s attractive is the myriad accessories that you can buy to complement with the Surface 3 including the Surface 3 Type Cover in various colours, Surface Pen, Surface 3 screen protector (tempered glass), Surface 3 Docking Station and upcoming third party sleeves and more.
