Huawei unveils TalkBand B2: The Bluetooth headset and health tracker hybrid

Huawei TalkBand B2

Huawei announced a series of wearable devices at the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2015) including the beautiful Huawei Watch, TalkBand B2 and TalkBand N1. In addition, the China tech giant also unveiled its next generation phablet, the dual-LTE MediaPad X2.

The Huawei TalkBand B1 was a popular device, and according to Huawei, was used daily by 87% of TalkBand B1 customers. The unique combination of a health tracker and Bluetooth headset makes the TalkBand B1 a one-of-its-kind product.

The Huawei TalkBand B2 rides on the popularity of its predecessor and improves on its looks as well as functionality. Its successor, the TalkBand B2, gets a more business-like, professional design with smarter fitness tracking and higher accuracy as well as enhanced synchronisation with mobile devices.

The health tracker is equipped with an advanced 6-axis sensor which can automatically identify and record motion accurately, detect deep sleep and light sleep duration, and provide health tips on ways to improve your sleep pattern.

The TalkBand B2 was designed with fashion in mind by the Huawei Aesthetics Center team in Paris. Its minimalistic exterior shrouds its inner tech and houses the vibrant 0.73-inch PMOLED touch screen display. The metal bracket is made of high strength, lightweight aviation aluminum.

It comes in two watchband styles — either environmental TPU material or luxurious leather, with various colour options. The leather strap version weighs just 32.3g, while the TPU strap version tops at 30.6g.

The TalkBand B2 is claimed to have superb battery performance from its 95mAh battery — able to operate for up to five days on a single charge — supporting continuous call time of up to six hours or 12 days of standby time.

The Huawei TalkBand B2 Premium version (leather strap) retails at 199 euros (RM808) while the Standard version (TPU strap) goes for 169 euros (RM686).
