Apple has been doing a couple of things differently lately and if you’ve noticed, there’s been a slew of high profile billboards along major highways showcasing the iPhone 6. As you know, Apple is pretty low profile in terms of advertising and not since the early days of the iMac and iPod have we seen an Apple print ad, let alone a billboard.

At around 2AM this morning though, a new Apple ad appeared on Jalan Maarof, Bangsar, Malaysia.

The current ads you see are typically clean single iPhone 6 product shots with zero information or sign-offs (not even an Apple logo).

The new one that’s just up is different. It features a photograph shot with the iPhone 6.

The headline reads “Diambil dengan iPhone 6,” which translated from Bahasa Malaysia means, “Shot with iPhone 6.”

The sign-off leads to apple.com/my/worldgallery —a purpose-built section on the Apple site that’s dedicated to the iPhone 6 camera and the beautiful photos and videos taken by users everyday.

Each photo curated by Apple gives credit to the user and also provides links to the iPhone camera sub section, and a download link of the app used in the iTunes Store.

The iPhone 6 camera features a f/2.2 aperture and large 1.5-micron pixels. The new 8MP sensor has Focus Pixels, improved face detection and exposure control. The camera on the iPhone 6 Plus on the other hand, has the addition of OIS.

Both models shoot 1080p HD video at 60fps and 240fps slow motion at 720p.

Thanks to Geoffrey for the tip-off.
