Maxis reveals official iPhone 6 pricing and free Midnight Express Delivery

Maxis Midnight Delivery

Dying to get your hands on the new iPhone 6? Forget about queues because queuing is just so last century. This year, Maxis is offering Maxis Midnight Express Delivery — the first telco in the country to personally deliver the spanking new iPhone 6 to you, wherever you are.

Here’s how it works: a select few hundred who pre-order the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus the Maxis Online Store from 31 October onwards, will be offered the free delivery service from midnight of 6 November to wherever you may be — at home, out with friends, on the beach, in the mountains. Well, you get the drift.

If you don’t want the exclusive midnight delivery, you can still pre-order online then choose to self-collect at six Maxis Centres nationwide — KLCC, Johor Bahru, Penang, Kuantan, Kota Kinabalu and Kuching, between midnight and 4.00am on 6 November.

After this, devices will be available at all Maxis Centres and Maxis Exclusive Partners (MEPs) across the country. This will depend on stocks available of course.

Retail prices of the new iPhone variants are as below:

  • iPhone 6 16GB – RM2,399.00
  • iPhone 6 64GB – RM2,749.00
  • iPhone 6 128GB – RM3,149.00
  • iPhone 6 Plus 16GB – RM2,749.00
  • iPhone 6 Plus 64GB – RM3,149.00
  • iPhone 6 Plus 128GB – RM3,549.00
  • iPhone 5s 16GB – RM1,999.00
  • iPhone 5s 32GB – RM2,199.00
  • iPhone 5c 16GB – RM1,499.00

Apple historically does not raise prices of new generation of its devices, and true enough, the tradition of keeping the entry-level iPhone is within the RM2,399-RM2,499 range.

With Maxis plans, the iPhone 6 starts at RM659, while the bigger iPhone 6 Plus is priced from RM999 with the iValue 3, 24-month plan.

For the first time, there is an additional non-iValue package which is the new MaxisONE plan that offers limitless voice calls and SMS text messages.

Not long after the Maxis Online Store was opened for pre-orders, the Maxis website was inundated due to high traffic in which Dushyan Vaithiyanatha, Maxis’ Head of Consumer Business responded, “The response has been quite overwhelming that our site had experienced high traffic when we opened for pre-orders at midnight. Our team is working hard to ensure that our customers will be able to pre-order their phones as quickly as possible.”
