ASUS’ Fonepad 7 (FE170CG) has just been pushed an Android 4.4 KitKat update via Firmware Over-the-Air. The latest system firmware is build number: KVT49L.WW_fonepad-11.2.3.17.3-20141006.

If you have not receive any update notification, manually check for update in About> System Update. Otherwise, do wait for a while as FOTA update normally comes in batches.

The Fonepad 7 was announced in May this year, a 7-inch Android device with full 3G telephony functionality. The tablet comes in a variety of colours and is powered by an Intel Atom Z2520 (1.2Ghz) processor that delivers good performance and incredible 10-hour battery life.

The budget tablet has built-in 3G with HSPA+ mobile data and also packed with a rear-facing 2MP camera and front-facing VGA camera. Storage is 8GB.

Weighing just 290g and measuring 10.7mm thick, the Fonepad 7 isn’t just light in your hands, it’s also light on the pocket at RM429 (US$131).

ASUS also recently pushed a KitKat FOTA update to its best-selling ZenFone line of smartphones.
