It’s a new old Start.

It’s no secret that Microsoft is hard at work with the next big release of Windows. We’ve already seen leaks of Windows 9 across the interweb. On Tuesday (30 September) in San Francisco, the Redmont giant is set to name and detail its latest Windows release. Microsoft accidently listed a “Windows TH” on a preview site earlier.

Windows TH is widely believed to stand for “Windows Threshold”, a codename that may eventually become Windows 9.

The Windows TH name is likely to be a work in progress name, and some sources have suggested that Microsoft may even name the next release as just “Windows.” The preview site has since been removed.

Windows TH
What TH…

A new, more streamlined Windows is in line with Microsoft’s mobile- and cloud-centric focus championed by new head honcho Satya Nadella.

As seen in leaks, the next version of Windows reintroduces the Start Menu plus Metro-style apps on the desktop, virtual desktop and Cortana integration.

If Windows 8 was a new beginning and transition, the next version of Windows looks to properly unify the entire Windows experience across PC, XBox One, tablet and Windows Phone.

Stay tuned on 30 September.
