iPro launches sub-RM200 smartphone and tablet

iPro Sense Avancer

If you haven’t heard of the brand iPro, then you’re probably not alone. The Malaysian-bred mobile maker is a player in the low- to mid-range market, slowly building its presence in major cities across Malaysia. Over the past couple of days, we’ve seen Microsoft and Motorola bringing sub-RM400 smartphones, effectively putting a nail on the coffin for feature phones. If iPro’s price points are anything to go by, then, the death of the feature phone is certainly assured and definite.

The growing brand has launched two new devices – iPro Sense Fii smartphone and the iPro Sense Wi 2 tablet, and subsequently kicked off a roadshow at Plaza Low Yat starting from 11-17 August 2014.

The iPro Sense Fii packs a dual-core 1.2Ghz processor, 4-inch LCD display, dual camera, 512MB RAM, 4GB storage and microSD support. It runs Android 4.2.2 and costs at an unbelievable price of RM199.00 (US$63).

The 7-inch Sense Wi 2 tablet has similar underpinnings as the Fii, with the same dual-core MediaTek 1.2Ghz processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB storage, WiFi-only and running Android 4.2.2. The price? An astonishing RM99.00 (US$31). We’re not kidding, and neither is iPro.

Needless to say the products are indeed flying off the shelves and stocks are limited. If you’re looking for super budget devices, then you should make a trip down to Plaza LowYat this weekend.

We’ve actually been in touch with iPro for the past couple of months, and have been testing their flagship iPro Sense Avancer – a feature-packed, well-built octa-core smartphone with a 5-inch IPS Full HD display, 14MP camera, 2GB RAM, NFC and 16GB storage. It’s iPro’s most expensive device in its portfolio, costing RM1,099 (US$348).

We’ve been rather impressed with this device, with build quality rivalling and even exceeding some of the better known brands. A review is on the way.

iPro has quite a following on Facebook (its website is still being developed) so do give it a visit for updates and promos.

This won’t be the last you’ll hear of the brand for sure. Do keep a look out for the review on these pages
