Huawei today opened its third flagship store in Malaysia, signifying its commitment to Malaysian consumers. The flagship store at Suria KLCC will provide consumers a first-hand brand experience of its consumer portfolio.

Huawei’s first flagship store was opened at Plaza Low Yat early this year, followed by another at Mid Valley Mega Mall. The store at Suria KLCC is located at Lot 316A (third floor) and offers a wide range of products including the latest Huawei Ascend P7 smartphone and the Media Pad X1 tablet, as well as mobile broadband and home devices.

Attending the official launching were YB Dato’ Lee Chee Leong, Deputy Minister, Ministry of International Trade and Industry; Wu Zheng Ping, Economic and Commercial Counselor, The Embassy of the P.R. China in Malaysia; Dato’ Naim Mohd, Vice President of Perdasama; Mike Wang, CEO Huawei Technologies (M) Sdn Bhd; Keith Li, President of Chinese Enterprises Association of Malaysia; and Gary Xu, Country Director for Huawei Consumer Business Group in Malaysia.

Gary Xu said at the launch, “At Huawei, we strongly believe that affordability and brand experience should not be mutually exclusive. Our flagship stores personify this belief. We are very excited to be one of the first Chinese high-tech companies to open a store in KLCC, a renowned landmark in Malaysia.”

In conjunction with the store opening, Huawei is offering the Twin Tower, Twin Promotion where the first 100 Twins, Triplets or Quadruplets who purchase a Huawei Ascend P7, Huawei X1 7.0, Huawei Ascend G6 or Huawei Ascend G750 from the store, from 16 – 20 July 2014, are entitled to a “buy 1 free 1 or buy 1 free 2 or buy 1 free 3″ promotion.

Globally, Huawei was ranked number three in global smartphone shipments for 2013 by IDC, Strategy Analytics and Canalys, with the highest year-on-year increase among the leading manufacturers at 67.5% at 4.9% market share. In the first quarter of this year, Huawei sold 13.7 million smartphones globally and intends to deliver a further 80 million handsets by the end of this year alone.

Huawei currently has over 70 retail outlets including kiosks across Malaysia, and the Chinese giant aims to increase this to 100 by end of this year.
