Samsung‘s best – the newly-launched GALAXY S5 has been given an injection of new colours, now in gold and electric blue. The flagship smartphone is now available in four colours including black and white.

Positioned to be more ‘glam’, the GALAXY S5 features a perforated pattern on the back cover that’s both stylish and comfortable to hold.

The GALAXY S5 brings some new tech to the plate. Firstly, the new 16MP camera has a superfast auto focus speed of up to 0.3 seconds. That allows for some rapid shot pictures. Advanced HDR mode and Selective Focus add to the camera’s repertoire of growing features.

One of the quickest Qualcomm chips powers the new smartphone – the 2.5Ghz quad-core Snapdragon 801, coupled with a generous 3GB RAM.

The GALAXY S5 supports the fifth generation Wi-Fi 802.11ac and 2×2 MIMO and has a larger number of LTE frequency with LTE Category 4 standard. A new feature called Download Booster boosts data speed by bonding Wi-Fi and LTE simultaneously.

Samsung gets into the fitness game more seriously with the new S Health 3.0, coupled with the new built-in heart rate sensor. S Health provides comprehensive fitness tracking tools to help users monitor and manage their lifestyle, coupled with a pedometer and diet/exercise records. The phone also pairs with the new GALAXY Gear 2 and Gear Fit.

For the first time, Samsung has made its main flagship dust- and water-resistant out-of-the-box. The GALAXY S5 is IP67 certified, that allows it to be dust and water-resistant up to 1m for 30 minutes.

Samsung has also jumped in on the finger scanner bandwagon, featuring a Finger Scanner built into the phone’s Home button. Swipe to unlock the phone or make secure payments via PayPal.

The Samsung GALAXY S5 is priced at RM2,399 (SRP) and is available at all Samsung Experience Stores and authorised retailers.
