Sony has sent out a press invite to us for a regional event happening in Jakarta, Indonesia on 5 March 2014. The cryptic visual invite reads, “Be Our Guest. Save the Date. Life is an incredible journey. Discover how with us on 5 March 2014! Venue: Jakarta, Indonesia.”
We’re pretty sure they’re not inviting us for a swim. Or perhaps they are. With an Xperia Z2 “Sirius” in our hands. Who knows. If it is indeed a mobile event, it would be quite timely, looking at how it will be just a week after the big Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014 event in Barcelona.
Much has been rumoured about the new flagship successor to the excellent Xperia Z1. Leaked shots have revealed a 5.2-inch 1080p 2K display (2560 x 1440 pixels @ 506ppi) with an impossibly thin, almost-not-there bezel. The Z2 is expected to sport a quad-core 2.3Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and packed with 3GB RAM. The Z2 is also rumoured to sport a similar 20MP shooter as the Z1. And as with all Sony Xperia flagship products, the Z2 will be dust- and water-resistant.
We can’t wait for 5 March!
