The Influencer for Kuantan: A Special Message

The recent massive floods in Kuantan affected some 30,000 people. The waters may have receded and evacuation centres now empty, but the people of Kuantan still need assistance to pick up and rebuild their lives. As you know, I was part of the online reality show called “The Influencer”. At the height of the floods, we came together to come up with a special video message (in English and BM) to call for help and donations.

The idea was initiated by superstar blogger Ben Ashaari and it was fully supported by “The Influencer” show producer Choo Mei Sze of PersonEDGE and the rest of the contestants. I quickly wrote the scripts in English and BM, and the boys from Lowyat.TV expertly put the video together.

MERCY Malaysia was one of the agencies who responded to the flood affected areas in Pahang by sending its mobile clinic, distributing hygiene kits and seeing to the immediate needs of those affected.

Pahang was hardest hit by floods and over 9,000 people were evacuated to 14 flood relief centres.

MERCY Malaysia launched the Malaysian Flood Relief Fund in response to the massive floods.

You can do your little bit to help victims rebuild by donating to the channels below.
