Together with the Nokia Lumia 1520 launch today, Nokia also announced the Nokia MixRadio with Play Me service in Malaysia – a free music streaming service that learns users’ listening habits and delivers a personalised radio station, at a single touch of a button.

13 million+ tracks

Nokia MixRadio is a rebrand and redeveloped music service based on the acclaimed Nokia Music streaming service launched in 2011.

Nokia MixRadio can rate tracks with a simple ‘thumbs up’, ‘thumbs down’ and ‘favourite’ artists to improve music selection.

The service is free but also offers hundreds of expert and celebrity curated mixes advert-free, signups or paid subscriptions. MixRadio also offers offline mixes, saved locally to the phone for times without cellular signal, to reduce on data usage and cost.

There are currently over 13 million tracks available on MixRadio.

At the launch, Malaysia’s soul diva Ning Baizura delighted the crowd, belting out one of her old hits and a number from her new album.

While it was not mentioned at the launch, Nokia also has Nokia Music Plus, a premium, paid iteration of the free Nokia Mix Radio offering, launched last month. The service is offered at RM6 per month and subscribers will get an enhanced personalised radio service including unlimited track skips, unlimited playback, lyrics streaming, and high bit rate media. The app is available only for Windows 8 and Nokia Lumia devices – http://music.nokia.com/my/en/

Nokia MixRadio with Play Me is now available in Malaysia and the app can be downloaded today at Windows Phone Store.
