Apple‘s new iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c are now available for purchase via the Malaysian Apple Online Store. The new devices were officially available starting this morning. Apple Authorised Resellers are also offering the new devices, although stocks are scarce.
The new Apple smartphones have had considerably muted launches this year compared to previous years’, suspected to be due to stock shortage and unit availability. Unusually, Malaysian telco Maxis did not have a proper big bash iPhone launch this year, and merely organised a midnight pre-order fulfillment event. When asked, Maxis representatives remained mum over the real reason.
DiGi on the other hand also had a pre-booking fulfillment event across five of its DiGi Stores, where customers selected via their #DIGIFASTLINE system got to get their hands on the new devices first.
Rival Celcom had by far the bigger launch of the major telcos at their Blue Cube Store in Sunway.
The flagship iPhone 5s is available in all colours, starting from RM2,399 sans contract via the Apple Online Store. Shipping in 2-3 weeks.
The iPhone 5c, available in multiple colours, lists from RM1,999 sans contract. Ships in 1-3 days.
The iPhone 4s, now Apple’s entry-level devices, goes for RM1,499 and ships within 24 hours.
Apple Online Store offers free shipping for orders anywhere in Malaysia.
