Legoman says “Hi” with a huge grin on his face. Wonder what he’s hiding.

Are you a LEGO fan, collector or enthusiast? If you are, you’ve probably taken your time to get your hands on the limited edition Shell LEGO car models, a promotion by Shell which began 8 November 2012. The Shell promotion, introduced the first three unique, constructible, limited edition Ferrari LEGO models which are available for purchase in all Shell stations nationwide. Their popularity however, gave birth to a new wave of LEGO models, the Scuderia Ferrari Truck, Ferrari FXX and Ferrari F40, launched exclusively in Sunway Pyramid on the 24th November 2012. These additional Lego models will be available from 29 Nov 2012 at Shell stations nationwide.

You’ll have to watch the video below to find out why i took a picture of this. I may be bad at photos but i’m not THAT bad… right? RIGHT? Meh.. who asked you.

In a dazzling display of lights and sounds, a special unveiling was done in the Blue Concourse of Sunway Pyramid, Bandar Sunway where three new exclusive LEGO models were showcased to media and guests. The three new models, the Scuderia Ferrari Truck, Ferrari F40 and Ferrari FFX will be available in all Shell stations nationwide beginning 29 November 2012. Unlike your usual LEGO models, these limited edition Ferrari models contain a “micro-propulsion” motor capable of propelling these models a minimum of two metres (try not to face them against a wall, please)

Under the white sheet, is the Ferrari 150 in LEGO bricks

Speaking at the launch, Tuan Haji Azman Ismail, Managing Director, Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn. Bhd. said “Shell and the Lego Group worked together on the development of the mini-motor for over 18 months and it embodies the spirit of technological innovation that is at the heart of Shell V-Power fuels; formulated to deliver improved performance through advanced technology.”

To feed your need for speed and eagerness to build, you’d be happy to know that they are normal LEGO blocks, which you can use with any other LEGO blocks you already have. While some blocks will inevitably be unusable for any other purpose than these models (the motor is an example), the rest are interchangeable, so it won’t take out any fun from your usual LEGO. On a side note, I am clearly better at building LEGO than taking photos.. right? RIGHT? Meh, go away. It moves just fine!

I dub thee, Sir PEWPEWBANGBANG! VERNONCHAN.COM’s WATERMARK IS BIGGER HERE, DUE TO SHEER THE AWESOMENESS OF THIS ROBOT.

So, what was that white sheet for? Aside from the fact of hiding it of course, it was part of the launch gambit, which was quite a show. Watch the launch gambit below:

NOTE: REDUCE YOUR VOLUME or suffer extreme noise levels (lol) – trying to take a video next to mounted speakers isn’t the best idea.

Besides the launch of the new models, Shell also revealed easier ways to obtain the LEGO models. With immediate effect, customers presenting their BonusLink cards can be proud owners of one of six unique LEGO models for just RM12.90. No purchase of Shell products required. Valid while stocks last! So head on over to your nearest Shell station now!
