Far Cry 3: No Dedicated Servers

This is insane. Well, actually it’s not, and kind of expected. Ubisoft community manager Henrik “Vextor” Johansson revealed Far Cry 3’s multiplayer will not support dedicated servers. They also stated that they will be running a peer matchmaking system similar to Ghost Recon.  This message was seen at Ubisoft’s official forums.

While some of you are immune to these types of news, like me, there’s some further explanation from the Community Manager for the raging fans out there(if there is any).

“Of course, we aren’t trying to kill the PC community,” Johansson added to the rapidly ballooning thread. “We’ve simply decided on a different way of handling multiplayer. We weighed the different options against each other to see what worked best, and what we came up with worked very well even without dedicated servers.”

Dedicated or non-dedicated, if the matchmaking system still loads after getting myself a cup of coffee, it’s capital punishment – Firing Range execution.
