Firaxis’ XCOM: Enemy Unknown has been out in the market for a while. But, have you ever wondered what the original creator thinks about new iterations? Well, that question has finally been answered.

According to Games.On.Net (GON), Jake Solomon, who was in charge as producer to Enemy Unknown, says that he sees the XCOM’s creator, Julian Gollop as a hero; and which is why Enemy Unknown still has faithful touches of the original XCOM.

“The game is addictive and absorbing, not to mention quite challenging on the Classic difficulty setting, Julian Gollop said. “Most of Firaxis’ decisions have been pretty sensible. Overall, I think they have preserved the essence of the original XCOM. Firaxis has done a great job,” He continued.

There was however a little concern or criticism on the mechanics of the game, though.

“One small disappointment is that the positions of events and bases in the world view have no relevance at all. I often get the feeling that some things are just too deliberately contrived, the three simultaneous abduction sites [of which the player can only respond to one] being the worst offender,” Julian Gollop added.

So fans of the original XCOM and Enemy Unknown alike, what do you think? Do you agree with what Julian Gallop said? Will the creator ever return to collaborate with Firaxis in the future? Who knows?
