According to a reliable source at a high-profile US retailer, Apple will debut a 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display alongside the iPad mini launch, slated to be on October 23.
The new 13-inch MBP with Retina Display is rumoured to have a thinner, lighter enclosure and will be sold in two configurations, with processor and storage options. Expect Intel 3rd-generation Ivy Bridge processors, USB 3.0 and Thunderbolt.
The 13-inch MBP with Retina Display dubbed D1 internally, is said to also follow the spec-pricing structure of the 15-inch MBP.
The 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display was introduced in June and is sold alongside non-Retina Display 15-inch MacBook Pros at a premium price.
The 13-inch Retina MBP screen resolution is at 2,560 x 1,600 pixels, as opposed to a resolution of 2,880 x 1,880 pixels on the 15-inch Retina MBP. Both effectively gives you the sharpness of a 5-megapixel image on screen.
The introduction of the 13-inch Retina MBP is expected, and a natural progression for the current MacBook Pro range.
